Who should attend this YI Forum?
Answer: Young investigators (e.g. undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinician trainees, and junior faculty) are the main focus of this event. The goal of the YI Forum is to give young investigators the opportunity to
- showcase their research through moderated poster sessions and oral presentations;
- learn about career development and the latest research, tools and technologies in their fields;
- develop leadership skills and
- interact and share ideas with both peers and mentors.
So if participating in this kind of event interests you, then we welcome you to attend!
Of course, senior researchers who wish to have stimulating interactions and learn with motivated junior researchers are also very welcome to attend.
How do I sign up for the YI Forum?
Answer: Registration for the YI Forum can be done through this website and will be open in early March. Please check back then to register.
Where is the YI Forum?
Answer: The 2012 CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) Young Investigators (YI) Forum will be held on June 4th to 6th, 2012 at the Marriott Montréal Château Champlain in downtown Montréal, Quebec.
How do I get to present a poster at the YI Forum?
Answer: There are 2 ways that participants may get to present a poster of their research work at the YI Forum:
- Successful applicants (recipients) of the CIHR YI Forum Travel Awards will be required to present a poster of their work at the YI Forum. If you receive and accept a CIHR Travel Award to attend the Forum, then you must present a poster.
- Those attendees who do not apply for a travel award but wish to have an opportunity to showcase their research thru the poster competition, are invited to apply to the ‘Abstracts ONLY’ competition to be launched in March 2012. More information coming soon!
